Shoes :)

What is your food weakness?

Chips, popcorn, pretzels... If it is salty and crunchy then I am there!  (Or jellybeans ;))

What is your go to movie to watch when nothing is on?

It really depends what kind of a mood I am in but if I can only pick one then probably Knight and Day. 

What is your go to breakfast food?

Yogurt and some kind of fruit or, an omelette and some kind of fruit.

Do you drink coffee? If so how do you take it?

Sometimes... and for all the Canadiens out there I take it double double ;)


Heading south tomorrow for an appointment with my surgeon...  Fingers crossed!

1. Favorite type of work out to do?

Dance!  Also, recently found Blogilates on youtube and I have really been enjoying that :)  

This one kicks my butt :)

2. Favorite guilty pleasure candy or sweet?
I don't think I have anything specific...  If I had to pick probably jelly beans or chocolate... I like me some chocolate :)  (And Smartfood! Even though it is not candy, I loooove that stuff)

3. What is one thing you continuously forget to do?

Shave my legs.  All the time in the winter.  But not so much in the summer... maybe it is more of a 'not caring' than a 'forgetting' :)   

4. Posts its or phone reminders? Why?

Both.  Because actually writing  it down helps me to remember, but my phone will beep at me and a post-it won't.

5. Favorite picture currently on your phone that always makes you smile?

80's bowling night :)

1. Favorite thing to do on a rainy day?

Curl up with a pile of blankets, a mug of tea, and a sappy chick flick/book somewhere that I can watch the rain.  I also love camping in the rain (as long as I don't need to put up/take down in it).  The sound of rain on a tent is one of the most relaxing things ever (imho)  :)

2. Favorite thing to do on a Summer weekend?
Find a spot on a sunny beach with a good book and some snacks :)  (Or  pretty much anything with friends/family :))

3. Favorite Spring accessory?

Well I love being able to wear flats and light jackets/blazers again... But I have a really great trench coat that I picked up a few years ago and I think that is probably my favourite.  I feel like Audrey Hepburn every time I wear it :)

4. Favorite way to spend a Winter day?

Skating/playing in the snow with friends, and the promise of hot chocolate at the end :)

5. What is your favorite season and why?

I actually don't have a favourite season...  I live in Northern Ontario and we have distinct season changes here (-35C in the winter and +35C in the summer) which I love :)  And while they all have things I don't like I just try to enjoy the season that I'm in when I'm in it :)

6. Best birthday you ever had?

Probably 16th.  My family made it really special :)  Then agin this past birthday (20th) was pretty good as well... It was great to be surrounded with people that love me again :)

1. What is one movie you are terrified to watch?

The Exorcist...  I am not a fan of horror movies and this one just seems to be the worst of them all.  (Or any movie that is based on a favourite book of mine because I know that chances are they will have butchered it :P )

2. What is one TV show you have always wanted to get into but haven’t yet?
Lost. I know that it is over now and all, but I feel like it is one of those shows that if I got into I would really enjoy...  So far that hasn't happened.  I have tried a couple times but I can't get past season two :( Suggestions?

3. What is one daring activity on your bucket list?

To do something completely spontaneous.  Maybe not the most daring but I already crossed off traveling by myself for a year (ish) so....

4. Would you ever travel alone?

For sure! Not a problem. Last year I traveled to Africa and Spain all by my lonesome for 8 months :)  Definitely different than traveling with other people but fun.

5. What activities do you like to do alone?

If I am just wiped and need to flake I prefer to be alone but otherwise I am mostly fine either way... I guess it really depends on my mood but usually I am pretty easy going either way.

A change of underwear and a shelf full of books (totally counts as one thing ;))

Firefly and anything Star Trek

3. If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab?
Laptop!  And journals/Bible.

4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing?

I don't know that I really have two all time favourites...  But right now probably my brown boots and my black wool coat.

5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us?

V for Vendetta and The Avengers (so good!)

6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures? 

Silly chick flicks and spa nights

Sunday Social - September 23

I am so excited that I am on the ball enough to link up with Sunday Social this weekend :)

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of?

Cut my hair short :)  I know that it is just hair and it will grow out, but I think that I would either love it or hate it...

(Something like this if you are at all interested ;))

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Well, right now I am just focusing on getting through the next four in one piece.  :)

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012?

Getting my knee fixed!

4. What are your hopes for your blog?

That it will continue to be a place where I can just be myself.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?

No.  But you never know :)

6. What is your morning routine?

Wake up at 6:30, get dressed, do my hair/makeup, eat, throw my lunch into my bag, grab my travel mug, leave for school.  And that is pretty much it...  (I usually end up doing my makeup in the car though :))

1. What were you like in Middle School/HS?(pictures)

I kind of went through phases... The one where I was awkward and didn't know it, the one where I was awkward and knew it but didn't care, and the one where I was awkward but thought I wasn't. ;) 

I have only been out of high school for a year and a half, so I don't know that these pictures are particularly horrifying but here you go :)

2.  What were your favorite pastimes?

Well in high school especially I spent a lot of my time dancing... Modern, ballet and a little bit of jazz :) I didn't have time for much else.

3. What songs were you obsessed with?(Backstreet Boys anyone?)

I hardly knew anything about popular music during high school... all I cared about was if I could choreograph to it :) I have always loved The Beatles though. 

4. What fashion statement do you look back on and cringe?

I don't know that there was anything particularly awful...  Or maybe it was so bad that I don't want to share it on the internet...  ;)

5. Who was your celeb crush?

Brad Pitt in Oceans Eleven. (But only Oceans Eleven)

6. What were your favorite tv shows/movies?

Well I obviously liked Oceans Eleven ;)  I think that my other favourites were the first Pirates movie, The Incredibles, and Sky High.  As far as tv shows go I liked Star Trek and Gilmore Girls.

Sunday Social - August 12

I know I am a bit late but I am linking up again with Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social week ten :)

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I really don't know.  The problem with this question is that no matter how much I like a food I know that if I had to eat only that for the rest of my life I would soon start to hate it.  So... no idea :) 

What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?

I don't have one ...  Although if I have to choose one probably some kind of chips...

What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?

Well I did eat some tripe in Spain... I did not particularly enjoy it but the Spanish people I was with were super impressed ;)  

What foods do you avoid at all costs?

I am not a very picky eater... but I do try to avoid brussel sprouts and raw onion... I am not a huge fan of  cooked tomato and pepper either.  I love raw tomato and pepper though.

What meal reminds you of your childhood?

A dutch dish called Zuurkool Sofiya... It is totally awesome :)

Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.

Mason Jar Brownies

Layer in 1 quart mason jar:

-1/2 c and 2 tbsp flour

-3/4 tsp salt

-1/3 c cocoa

-1/2 c flour

-2/3 c brown sugar

-2/3 c white sugar

-1/2 c chocolate chips

-1/2 c vanilla chips

When ready to bake, blend jar ingredients in a large bowl.

Stir in:

-1 tsp vanilla 

-2/3 c oil

-3 eggs

Bake in a greased 9x9 pan at 350 for 20- 30 min. 

These are the best brownies ever!  I make them all the time and I love that they are quick and easy to whip up :)  (They also make a great gift... Just give the jar with the dry ingredients and a tag with the rest of the instructions.)

They don't have much of a story that I know of... My mom has been making for as long as I can remember :)

1. What is your favorite Fall activity?

Anything to do with leaves... I even like raking them ;)

2. Do you follow a football team? If so which one and why?

I don't follow football.  But if I were to watch then I guess any of the Canadian teams would work.

3. What is something fun about Fall in your area?

I don't know that we have anything that is particularly special... But I personally think that the leaves on my part of the world are some of the best :)

4. Fav Fall outfit staples?

Tall brown boots, blazers, scarves, jeans ... 

5. Thing you are looking forward to most about this coming Fall season?

Well, I really hope that I will starting university and I am pretty excited about that :)  

6. Favorite Fall holiday? Traditions?

Thanksgiving.  Turkey and pumpkin pie with mounds of whipped cream :)

And that is it for now :)  Next week is all about food and I may be just a bit too excited about it ;)

1. What is your dream job?
One that I am excited to do everyday.

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?
Travel!  And volunteer.  Probably somewhere with kids. :)

3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Depends how young you are talking ;)  At different times I wanted to be a princess, a dancer, or a director :)

4. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Currently my 'field' is student so I think that I will pass on this one ;) 

5. Biggest Pet Peeves either in life or in blogging or at work?
Hypocrisy, posers, when people don't take the time to notice other people, when people wear clothing that doesn't fit.

6. Biggest Fears
Losing my family.  Never being able to walk again.

I recently got back from a nine month trip to Africa and Spain.  It was pretty amazing :)

Road trip!  Or a week/weekend at a cottage somewhere.  Or better yet a road trip to a cottage somewhere :)

Mmm.. Anywhere with a beach :)

Camping!  My family and I have been camping since I was young and some of my favorite memories are from camping together :)

Place you most want to visit?

Oh, I have so many!  My top ten are probably PEI, Italy, Australia, Greece, the UK, France, India, Hawaii, Egypt and more of Spain.  I have also recently have a yen to see the west coast of the States... Maybe California?

Vacation/Travel necessities?

A trench coat, a versatile dress, jeans, a big hat, sunglasses, a water bottle, my Kindle, my journal, my sketch pad, a brush, some sort of shampoo/conditioner combo, Blistex, sunscreen, some neutral makeup, at least one bottle of nail polish and my laptop....  There is more but that is what springs to mind at the moment :)

Sunday Social - July 1

Before we get started I just need to say HAPPY CANADA DAY!  To all you Canadians out there :)



Now that that is out of the way lets get down to business namely the third Sunday Social!  This one is all about shopping :)

What is your favorite store to shop at?

Any thrift store... I love searching for that one amazing piece in a pile of junk :)

If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
I love Tom Ford so, if I could afford anything and everything that is probably what I would go with :)


Must have closet staple?
A comfy pair of jeans that make you look great, a white button down shirt, a really amazing blazer, a pair of tan shorts, and a red dress that makes everyone in the room look at you :)


Favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type)

I don't think that I have a favorite... But I tend to like Steve Madden and I just love to look at United Nude's designs :)

Best clothing deal you've ever gotten? (sale or amazing find)
A pair of Cole Haan boots that I got for $50 at 90% off :) I love them and wear them all the time :)


Style you'd love to try?
I think that it would be fun to try out the punk rocker look just once... like just for one night :)  I probably couldn't handle it for much longer than that ;)

Casting Crowns, The Beatles, Yann Tiersen, News Boys, Charlie Parker, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis.... Again I seem to be unable to pick only one... I am noticing a recurring theme here :)

What is your theme song/song that best describes your life?


I don't think that I really have a theme song or a song that describes my life but, the one that comes the closest is probably I Was Here by Beyonce. 

What songs puts you in a good mood?


Pretty much anything that I can dance too to be honest. :)

What is your favorite road-trip music?


Usually a pretty random mix of  things... my favorites and anything by The Beatles plus whatever else I am feeling like at the time... It tends to change depending on my mood :)

What song are you embarrassed to admit you love?

Not a song but a whole album, Up All Night by *gasp* One Direction. Now if you will excuse me I will bury myself in hole of embarrassment...

Although I know it is really more than one movie, I am going to have to go with the Lord of the Rings trilogy for my all around, watch it any time favorite. But I have to say that picking just one is way too hard.

"I like this ship! You know, it's exciting!"  -Scotty, Star Trek (2009) Wow. Lord of the Rings and Star Trek.  I am a nerd.

-Best movie to watch for a girls night in?

You've Got Mail or, Knight and Day.

The BBC version of Pride and Prejudice, hands down.

I don't know... as weird as it sounds I never really gave it any serious thought.

-Which movie stars closet would you want to raid?


Hard question!  But probably Reese Witherspoon's or Audrey Hepburn's :)  I just pretty much just love both of them.

- How did you come up with your blog name?
Because I feel like right now a lot of thing in my life are at the 'maybe fabulous' stage: Starting university, what I plan on doing with my life, even where my personal style is going!  I feel a bit like I am on the edge of everything and just maybe everything could turn out fabulous :)  
-What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I like getting my thoughts and ideas down.  I started this blog because I am going through a hard point in my life right now, and if I have a hard day (or even an easy one) it is really nice to have somewhere to 'talk' about it :)
- What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?
I don't know that I have been blogging long enough to really have anything I can't live without, but I have discovered how much I love having a reason to write more frequently :)
-Facebook or Twitter? Why?
Well, I don't have Twitter so I guess I will have to say Facebook :)
- If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?
I don't know!  I think that if anyone famous read my blog I would be thrilled :)
- What is something you want people to know about your blog?
It is just me. I am just writing to write and enjoying it :)
