Orange

So excited to be doing The Nail Files link up again!  A little surprised that it is now hosted by Jennie (look what happens when you leave for 5 weeks!), but I am excited to see where she takes it :)

So I am taking a day off today and actually had some time to do something a bit more interesting than one solid colour :)  So, I did a ombreish drippy thing with a couple of oranges I had sitting around.   I know it is still not that crazy but I really like it :) 

(I took these pictures right after I finished so it is not the cleanest (sorry :P) but I was too excited to wait :))

Also, I have started posting on bookworm again.  I will be doing a twice monthly roundup of what I have been reading and a short review of each book/series.  If you are interested in reading the first one just click here.

30 Day Snap | Day 28

I got my first ever proper manicure on Wednesday :)  I love the colour that I got but all I know is that it is China Glaze....  :(   Anyway, it is a beautiful teal colour with a slight gold shimmer that you unfortunately can't see here.

More excitingly I am now in Florida!  We flew in yesterday which is why I didn't post :)

nebula nails (or not)

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I attempted nebula nails.

I don't know that they turned out entirely 'nebulous' but I loved them :)  (killer to take off though!)

Like I said I did this one awhile ago so I don't remember which colours I used. But I got the original idea from here and here if you are interested :)

Christmas nails

This Christmas I decided to keep it simple and just painted my nails red and highlighted my ring finger with some silver 'snow'.  I am afraid they are a bit chipped by now but I think that they held up pretty well :)

 While the lighting in these pictures does not even begin to do this colour justice (the one on top is actually closer) it has long been one of my favourites... even before berry hues became the 'it' nail polish colours for this fall/winter ;)

And although this time they turned out a bit less than perfect, I am just way too excited that I have time (and energy) to paint my nails again to even care :)

It's Friday!  And, I am linking up with The Nail Files again :)

I have to say that I absolutely loved my nails this week :)  I wish I had been more on the ball and taken some pictures right away instead of after a few days of wear and tear though... 

Once again I have no idea what this is called or where I got it...  I have a  lot of people that just give me their old polish which I love but I have to admit makes posting about it a bit tricky ;)

Pink and Sparkly

This week my nails ended up being pink and sparkly :)  Those of you who know me know that I am not a particularly pink or sparkly person but this week it just... worked.

Once again I have no idea where I got this nail polish or what brand it is... :P  That seems to be a recurring theme eh ;)

Summer colours

I decided to do a fun summer nail this week and I am totally loving it :)

I used:  an N.Y.C.orange, Sally Hansen Seashell, and a light blue that I have had for so long I don't even know what it is called :)

I am going to watch the  rest of the Opening Ceremonies now :) Is anyone else watching the Olympics this week?

This week I actually managed to paint my fingers and toes the same colour at the same time!  In my world that is pretty exciting ;)   

The nail polish is just a generic drugstore brand that I picked up in Spain :)

So, most of you already know that last Sunday was Canada Day :)  In honour of that I did my nails red and white :) (or, red and silver seeing as I don't own any white nail polish ;))

The red is Wet n' Wild 414, and the silver is Claire's cosmetics shimmer baby blue.  I have had both of them forever :)  (And, I always use Sally Hansen's Double Duty for my base and top coat.)

I took these pictures right after I did my nails but it held up really well, and I am still wearing it... that always makes me happy :)

The Nail Files - June 22

My friend came by today and did this fun design for me with some nail pens she brought over.  :)

Unfortunately I did not think far enough ahead, and have no sweet clue what the brand name is or what the colours are called.  :P

Anyway, I loved how easy it was, and I think that I may need to buy some of these for myself :)  Does anyone have a suggestion brand wise?  Something that you have tried and love?

day 15 - June 8

Day 15.  Something new.

I have been doing my nails a lot these days, so I thought that it made for an appropriate 'something new' :)

nail polish used: Ardene 15.

I went pretty simple this time, just a plain metallic blue :)  A friend of mine was getting rid of some colours a few years ago and gave this to me...  This is the first time I have used it and while  the polish is may not be the best quality, I love the colour :).

Also, how amazing is this cake that my friend made for me!
