Hi
everyone! I am going to try my very best to blog once a week for the four weeks
that I am here in Guatemala so that if you want to you can follow along on my
adventure :)
This is my second full day here in Sumpango and it has been
pretty stellar so far. I am still
adjusting to all of the crazy/cool sights and sounds around me as well as keep
up with the rapid fire Spanish!
Not everything has been perfect though; I was pretty sick yesterday as the altitude (6000ft!) Seems to be hitting me pretty hard: P
But in spite of that I managed to get to take a trip to the
market with Barb to get some supplies for an event this morning and meet most
of the PILAS kids as many of them slept over last night :)
This morning was great as Gerry and Barb had a Sunday School
Teacher appreciation event in their home.
I was able to help a bit with setting up and organizing the games, which
was really fun, and the food at breakfast was great! It was also really fun to meet and talk with everyone (a bit,
I wasn’t kidding about having to catch up with my Spanish!) and see them
enjoying themselves :)
Anyway, today is going to be pretty restful as the only
other thing on the schedule is church this afternoon and then tomorrow I have
my very first youth event!
